Turkish student designs own solar-powered bicycle

An engineering student at Selçuk University in the central Anatolian province of Konya has invented a solar-powered bicycle. The bike can travel 40 kilometers at a speed of 35 km/h with the energy it stores throughout the day.

 

The vehicle takes about 6 hours to  fully charge during the day.  Then it can travel 40 kilometers at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour. “It is an ideal solution for inner-city traffic,” added Er, “It is both environmentally-friendly and affordable.”
