In Holland 87 Tons of Old E-Bike Batteries Collected

What does Holland do with the old batteries, when 200,000 new e bikes are sold each year? 

There is a system for returning the old battery to the shop that sold it, and then they are collected for proper disposal. The Stibat objective was to collect 80 tons of old and faulty e-bike batteries in the first year. The result surpassed that aim by nearly 9 percent.
