Early Data Released on Impacts of eMTB Use on Trails

The initial results show low power E bikes have little impact on trail erosion. 

This is not a surprise to me, my own experience with trails on private property show little impact on the trail with e bikes that have less than 1000 watts. But 2000w or more, I see the bike making obvious ruts in my private trails.  Surely more scientific studies in the future will agree, class one and class two electric bikes have low trail impact.  Bottom line is if the bike has enough power to throw rocks, it will.

The type of rider that chooses the higher power bike, that guy may not be the dude you want to share a trail with.
