E-Mountain Bike Racing Is Now a Thing
The first ever large scale E-MTB race in the USA was held last week at the Sea Otter Classic.
While some entrants just tried to finish the 60 min race with just one battery, others contested the race just as they would a traditional race. One thing is certain, just because it’s an ebike, does not mean any competitor can win. It’s still a race, and just hanging on for 60 min of hard off road riding is no joke.
Many forms of electric bike race have shown up in the last few years. One example is the Eco Challenge, and other forms of efficiency race. But when the racing is off road, there is still plenty of room for competitive riding that depends on the riders fitness in an E MTB race.
