Australian man builds the first ever hybrid petrol/electric bicycle using UP Mini 3D printer

While most get plenty of electric bike range with a 10 pound battery, some do need more range. 

Not all live in the city, or even have electricity at home. For a situation like that carrying your own generator can make sense, if its light enough.  None you can buy off the shelf are very light weight.

With the help of 3D printing, building prototypes can be much easier, much more affordable.
