2013 Specialized Turbo Review

The Turbo is a beautiful bike with its integrated battery pack, concealed cables, small backlit control unit, and magnetic EnergyBus connectors on the battery and motor. It is one of the fastest and priciest electric bikes around.

It has a 250 watt gearless motor with a 36 volt 9 amp hour Lithium-ion battery pack. The bike can reach 28 miles per hour in pedal assist mode. The bike includes a wireless computer and control switch that is  easy to access next to the right grip.  The sturdy aluminum frame with over-sized thru axles on front and rear enhance high speed performance.

The bike has built in front and rear LED lights for safety at night that continue to run even if the battery is fully drained.  This is done with a capacitor and current from the hub motor. Although it wouldn’t be ideal for someone who lived up or down stairs due to the 21.54kg weight (47.5lbs), it is better than a lot of other ebikes. Read the complete review from
